THE NEW BASE OF INNOVATIONS BTS LABS

BTS LABS, the first R&D Center in Turkey in the field of SDx and Automation technologies, which we laid the foundations for in 2018 and officially launched in 2021, is the unit of our group of companies that produces programmable infrastructures. We offer artificial intelligence-based automation, orchestration solutions, and hyperconverged platform applications with our high-level technical staff consisting of R&D engineers and academicians. Through our innovative vision set in motion with BTS LABS, we started our efforts to transfer knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence and automation to the younger generations. We implemented the Mental Arts internship and training program to train engineers who will guide the projects of the future with BTS experience and expertise. Mental Arts is a state-of-the-art program that is based on international models; and thanks to our staff who are the best in their fields we can introduce senior university students and new graduates to the (engineering) technology of the future.

Our strategic transformation plan allowed BTS group companies to achieve their medium and long-term plans for BTS LABS. Alongside ongoing 6 different products today, the BTS LABS launched Virtualization Platform, Hyperconverged Platform, Olympos Automation Platform products to the technology market.

Simultaneously, it plans to add the following structures in its sub-units devoted to autonomous networks and hyperconverged platforms:

        ● Software Defined Data Center

        ● Software Defined Networking

        ● Network Automation

        ● Data Center Automation

        ● Data Science & AI

        ● AI Enabled 6G

As BTS Group, we see it as one of our most important goals for BTS LABS to become a global R&D company in artificial intelligence-based programmable infrastructures. For this purpose, BTS LABS has developed crucial alliances with the leading institutions of Turkey and the world since its establishment and has located itself differently  from the beginning. It made its first agreement with Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Application and Research Center, one of Turkey`s leading technical universities, and it involved ITU AI Center Director Prof. Dr. Berk Canberk and his team in its operation. As a result of this collaboration, protocols were signed with ITU AI Center and ITU Faculty of Informatics to carry out R&D activities within the frame of university-industry cooperation. Besides ITU, it also started R&D based cooperation processes with Koç University , Turkish-German University and Bilkent University.  Meanwhile, it has entered into  the process of signing protocols with Cisco Innovation Center, the development center of the world-renowned technology company Cisco, and Aselsan, one of the largest companies in the Turkish Defense Industry. We plan to expand our collaborations with many valuable institutions within the scope of our strategic transformation goals.

Programmable Infrastructure

Due to ever developing technology and the circumstances of our present day, the rapid growth of the data produced and the difficulty of current infrastructures to meet this increasing demand have accelerated the digital transformation of companies in many sectors. The Covid-19 pandemic, which appeared in 2020 and changed all dynamics, elicited investments in IT infrastructure as the highest priority. As the instant growth of IT infrastructures made it difficult to solve the emerging problems, serious increases in total investment costs and operational problems increased the importance of autonomous architectures. With the shift into autonomous infrastructure architectures, programmable technologies development was accelerated. All components of a data center, especially the network infrastructure, server, storage, virtualization layers and security systems, have become more scalable and easier to manage. Likewise, the problems experienced in these components have become easier to solve thanks to the autonomous decision-making processes brought by artificial intelligence concepts such as machine learning/deep learning. Thereby; software teams, which play a key role in the digital transformation of companies, have turned from the application stage to a wider sphere of influence. Alongside the launch of new concepts such as DevOps, ITOps, DevSecOps, these have enabled multidisciplinary teams to take part in the lower stages of technology.

As BTS Group, we are one of the most important solution producers in programmable infrastructures with our investments in the field. With the help of our R&D center, BTS LABS, we lower the operational burden of institutions with the innovative products we have implemented in the areas of Autonomous Networks and Hyperconverged Platforms, and help them obtain great opportunities in total purchasing costs by providing flexibility in development. In the long term, we aim to be the most important stakeholder in the digital transition of companies.

ArtIfIcIal IntellIgence

Artificial intelligence is known as the ability of a computer or robot placed in an environment to execute a specified order on its own. Chess player Tartakower`s phrase "The blunders are all there on the board, waiting to be made" is actually pretty appropriate for artificial intelligence as well. The basic logic behind artificial intelligence is that a computer improves itself by correcting the preferences according to the wrong results that arise as a result of its previous preferences. Actually, whatever the problem is, this computer is a player that learns from its mistakes and reshapes its behavior according to these lessons. Probability and machine learning algorithms are intertwined with artificial intelligence and are used together. Alongside this, intensive learning algorithms have proven themselves in solving very difficult problems with the development of computer hardware technologies.

The performance of artificial intelligence is evaluated by comparing it with the performance of a human in a specified task. Artificial intelligence systems surpasses human performance in many new fields with the increase in studies on this subject.

Games such as Chess, Go, Atari; editing and retouching operations on video and image; the products that have been recommended to the consumer in the field of marketing are some of these areas. As BTS Group, our biggest aim in the near term is to develop artificial intelligence with our R&D department BTS LABS; is to be a leader in our field by integrating it into areas such as network infrastructures, hyperconverged platforms, security technologies.

Data ScIence

When artificial intelligence and machine learning studies popped out, it was predicted that they would bring a massive technological development.  When the future potential of Artificial Intelligence was noticed, many detailed studies were executed on this subject and countless new algorithms were produced. Optimization algorithms, estimation algorithms and data processing algorithms were also involved in these studies. However, statistics, which was the most prominent tool with its ability to understand nature and predict the unknown, left its throne to artificial intelligence when  AI had inevitably entered all areas of our lives in the 21st century.

The wide use of the internet and technology in various areas, and globalization have led to the emergence of large data stacks. In the 20th century, the expansion in the research of  machine learning activities, algorithmic developments in the field of artificial intelligence, and the ever-increasing amount of data led to the replacement of statistical approaches by estimation methodologies.  Today, due to having billions of devices connected to the internet, the expansion of network infrastructures all over the world and the increase in connection speeds have brought about an inevitable growth in the telecommunications field.

As BTS Group, we evaluate all these developments with our advanced expertise in the field and integrate artificial intelligence with big data. We are getting ready to take our place among the most important players of the ICT world with the products we have implemented in the field of R&D researches of network technologies, software-based network management and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Besides this, we aim to be a leader in the information sector while paving the way for technology in the telecommunication sector with the added value we create.

MachIne LearnIng

Andrew Ng, one of the first people to quote when it comes to machine learning, said, "Machine learning is the science of getting computers to act without being explicitly programmed." and maybe made one of the quickest definitions on the subject. The main aim of machine learning is to design a model from scratch using the current data and predict the results of the data we do not know when the learning process is finished. At this stage, machine learning has two main conflicts: Classification and regression. The classification problem is to build a model that learns to distinguish using various current properties of data points belonging to two or more classes. Therefore, when a new data point arrives, a prediction can be made as to which class it should be in, by looking at what properties it has. For instance, when a customer applies for a loan, the bank will search through the customer`s information and make a decision whether to give the loan or not based on this learning. The regression problem, on the other hand, is based on making a continuous value evaluation rather than classification.

An example of this is the determination of the percentage rate of the repayment interest of the loan to be used from the bank by looking at the financial information of a bank customer. At this point, statistics elicits itself as the methods used to transmit the available data in accordance with the machine learning model.

As BTS Group, we set out to support machine learning with technological facts as well as academic perspective. We established our R&D center, BTS LABS, in order to create a methodology that will learn the right decision-making mechanism in network technologies by using machine learning in the models we created and integrate it into the systems. We go on our way with new, innovative and ambitious steps, and we aim to become a leader in the field of ICT in the near future.

Network AutomatIon

Each development in current technology causes a great increase in demand for services such as connecting to the internet, downloading or transferring files. While this means connect to the internet in the fastest way for the end user; for service providers, it means more bandwidth or more devices. Another thing that should increase in parallel with the acceleration in expectations is the variety and quantity of devices that service providers have to control and manage. Each new device and technology elicits from the institutions and organizations that want to provide these services to their customers in the fastest way, as network equipment is getting more and more difficult to manage day by day. As BTS Group, we bring together domestic and international companies that we serve both in the country and in cooperation abroad, with effective solutions that allow them to easily overcome this difficulty. We aim to help every IT company to turn its network infrastructure into a software-based network. It has become a 21st-century necessity,  these solutions that enable the use of even the most difficult and complex network equipment extremely quickly and effectively.
